Brainstorming to find your ideal business product or service

Lately, I have been brainstorming non stop about different types of products and services that Tim and I could provide to people. As hard as you think it might be, it can be fairly simple to figure out high income business opportunities. All you need to do is focus and dedicate some attention to brainstorming. A good idea is the first step towards great success; but even a normal everyday idea can create some interesting results.

This brainstorming process consists of 2 parts; both fairly straightforward. First, consistently throughout the day, try to take note of all the things you are doing. Be it eating, running, whatever, jot it all down. Secondly, at the end of the day, go through your list and notice all the activities that you did during the day. Now as you go through your list, ask yourself what you can do to make each activity better than it was. What can you bring as a product or service that would enrich or facilitate the experience of the person?

This may sounds like a silly way to brainstorm, but it works. After a few iterations of this, you will notice that you are spontaneously thinking of new ideas for products or services all the time. The reason this technique works so well is that you are able to pinpoint activities that you, as a consumer, are doing everyday. If you can think about something to market that someone could use every single day, you will be in the money (providing that it is fairly decent!).

If you are trying to brainstorm of a service you could provide for the ever growing World Wide Web, talk to someone who is so called 'technically challenged'. For this example, I will use my parents. Get them to brainstorm for you! My parents aren’t exactly the most knowledgeable people in terms of the net; they know how to send/receive email and that’s pretty much it. Ask them to do anything else, and they probably would look at me with a blank face. For that reason, they are a gold mine of information. Talk to them and ask them, 'what would you want to be able to do on the net?'. Take down all their answers, even if they sound ridiculous. Go over them and see what you can do; brainstorm on how you can develop their ideas and try to make them into something interesting. You never know what you might get from them; it could mean your future success!

Brainstorming in a pro-active manner is much easier than sitting in front of a blank piece of paper and hoping to come up with the next big idea. If you are open to seeing these ideas, you will find them. Once you come up with something, develop the core fundamentals of your plan as much as possible, and you may just end up with a profitable business opportunity!
